On Saturday night, two jawans of the Deoghar police force were killed in a violent encounter with criminals. The incident occurred when a group of criminals arrived with weapons, intending to kill a local fish trader named Sudhakar Jha. In response to the threat, two jawans, Santosh Yadav, and Ravi Mishra were deployed for Jha's security. However, the criminals arrived late at night and a deadly confrontation ensued, resulting in the death of both Yadav and Mishra.

According to the President of the Policemen's Association, Mansingh Murmu, Jha had been receiving death threats, which led to the deployment of the two jawans. The bodies of the martyred jawans were brought to the Deoghar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.
